2024 Region and State Highlights

At the Region V Championship, our girls team earned 1st place overall, and our boys earned 2nd place overall. The combined girls & boys earned 1st place overall.

Within our Region, our team had the highest number of athletes per team qualify for the State Championships. 52% of our team qualified for the State Championships as an individual, meaning that 52% of our team was 1 out of the 16 fastest swimmers in their individual events or 1 of the 16 top scoring divers within the whole State of Alaska.

In addition, 3 out of 3 of our girls’ relays and 2 out of 3 boys’ relays qualified for the State Championships by earning first at Regions or being 1 of the 8 fastest relays in the State. Quite impressive considering only 32% of our swimmers were year-round swimmers - go Bears!

At State, all 5 of our relays moved up in placing or held onto their seeded placement, and our girls earned 2nd place overall. We earned 1st place in 2 events, 2nd place in 3 events, 3rd place in 2 events, and 4th place in 2 events.
